  3. Couper connected between electrical and gear for protection to pass motor rotation speed to gear box which will drive shaft.
  4. Shaft installed on gear box for 1000mm to 2800mm depending on tank height. A stabilizer installed to help shaft working steadily.
  5. Single layer or double later impeller installed on shaft to reach agitating performance.

Mud agitator options

  1. Horizontal worm gear type agitator, this is the most popular agitator used in oil and gas mud tank because it’s cost effective. There is coupler options for agitator to protect gear or options without coupler for saving cost.
  2. Horizontal bevel gear type agitator, this is a very good option for larger torque and minimum footprint. The bevel gear is much higher torque compares worm gear. Better performance, higher cost.
  3. Vertical agitator, this is well used for vertical tank with small footprint but higher height.

General description of Jet mud mixing pump

Jet mud mixing pump is also referred as jet mud mixer or mixing hopper pump. It’s combination of hopper and pump. The hopper type can be Venturi or swirl type. The mixing pump is widely used in oil and gas drilling fluids process. It is used to compound new drilling fluids and mix the active mud when necessary. For some civil construction application, the mud mixing pump is widely used for bentonite mixing, too. Compared to mud agitator, the mixing pump can mix the fluids through whole mud system by connected lines and transfer compounded mud to any tank or compartment.

How to select Jet mud mixing pump

Mud hopper pump capacity is defined by mud hopper size and pump. For example, the hopper including 4” or 6” port one. And the diameter is 400mm-700mm. For pump, the normal type for mixing hopper including APSB8X6, APSB6X5 and APSB5x4 driven by 75HP, 50HP, 30HP motor. The flow rate is about 400-1200GPM. To select proper mixing pump, please consider the flow rate of the whole mud system. Almost of clients prefer Venturi hopper to the swirl hopper because of high capacity and dust-free design. Furthermore, the Ventri hopper is more compact than swirl hopper 

Jet mud mixer

In a complete mud system, how many sets mixing pump do we need? It’s depending on mud flow rate of whole system. And the mixing pump can be assembled together with shearing pump we call it jet shearing pump. Furthermore, different users prefer different configuration on mud system. The mixing pump skid can be fit only one mixing hopper pump, or 2 sets of mixing hopper pump. And usually the 2 sets of mixing pump work simultaneously for sufficient fluids productivity

Different configuration on mud mixing pumps. In almost mud system, the mixing hopper pump is set at end of mud tank. They are assembly of hopper, pump, skid. In some system, there are 2 complete set of mixing pump. That means 2 hoppers and 2 centrifugal pump. For some clients, they prefer the separated mixing skid in a frame. The hopper can be in a separated frame or just a single hopper connected with all lines input and discharge. The pipings connected with mixing pump including the input line, discharge line, some are fit with T port for convenient mud transfer among tanks and compartments

All solid control equipment shall be adapted to water – based, polymer – based and oil – based mud systems, including salt water.All rubber seals are high temperature, oil and corrosion resistant and can meet the requirements of all kinds of drilling fluids.

Cusomized Double Decked Shale Shaker With High Performance

Double decked shale shakers of Aipu solids control are popular with clients. The double decked shaker screen we produced before has the same number of upper and lower screens and the same size. Only the upper deck is equipped with a coarse screen, and the lower deck is equipped with a finer screen.

The lastest customized double decked shale shaker we produced this time is different from the previous one. This double decked shale shaker has 8 shaker screens in total. The upper layer has 3 smaller shaker screens and the lower layer has 5 larger shaker screens. Upper deck is installed with 3 panels screen in lengthways, while the down deck is fit with 5 panels in the crosswise.

Shale shaker screen is the most important and necessary wearing spare parts for oilfield shale shaker and mud cleaner. The function of a shale shaker screen is to remove the particles bigger than the screen opening, and recover the usable drilling fluids which will go through the screen openings and get back to the drilling mud recycling system.

There are many brands shale shaker and mud cleaner, and every brand has his own design and own sizes shale shaker screens. In order to control the mud weight accurately, how do the mud engineers choose the right screens openings from different shale shaker and shale shaker screen suppliers?

In order to solve the problem, a general standard is necessary for design shale shaker screens. API RP 13C is an international popular standard to define the shale shaker screen specifications. A authorized lab will test a shaker screen by using a specific test procedure (as described in API RP 13C), the lab test will define a series of specifications of the screen, like D100 cut point, screen conductance, non-blanked area. After these specifications are confirmed, the API Screen Number is determined. It ensures that, all Shale shaker screens confirmed to API RP13C standard, if the API No. is the same, the screen cut point will be the same. Same model screens from different screen suppliers if with the same API NO., the screens are interchangeable.

Below definitions are some important parameters of shale shaker screens to help you know more about API screens:

API screen NO.: After testing a screen by using a specific test procedure (as described in API RP 13C), the API screen no. is determined.
Mesh: it relates to a piece of screen wirecloth, is a measure of the number of holes in a linear inch (such as 100 mesh) or in a linear inch in each direction (such as 100 x 60 mesh).
D100 Cut Point: The D100 cut point of a screen is the largest particle size which will pass through the screen opening. D100 means 100% percent separation.
Screen Conductance: It measured in kilodarcies per millimeter (kD/mm), defines a Newtonian fluid’s ability to flow through a unit area of screen in a laminar flow regime under prescribed test conditions. All other factors being equal the screen with the higher conductance number should process more flow.
Non-Blanked Area: The non-blanked area of a screen describes the net unblocked area in square feet (ft²) or square meters (m²) available to permit the passage of fluid.
